We are so focused on ourselves and our suffering, try to put yourself in someone else’s shoes.
The Prophet (sws) was empathetic,
Empathy is putting yourself in someone else’s shoes not trying to understand their pain, this is sympathy. The Prophet (sws) used to feel the pain of individuals, and the Prophet (sws) is the standard for everyone!
Do we really feel the pain of the poor man down the street? the homeless woman? the child that lost his father or mother? the muslim who is struggling with his/her deen? Do we really feel the pain of the Syrians? Palestinians? Somalis? Chechen?
